Cafés
Haslemere has a great selection of independent cafés and restaurants, perfect for everything from a relaxed coffee to an evening out. There’s a real emphasis on quality and local charm rather than big chains. Some of our favourites include Olivers, Lions Den and Hemingway’s, ideal for a spot of lunch or tea and cake.

The high street offers a mix of independent boutiques alongside everyday essentials, creating a balance of convenience and character. Popular spots include Sass & Spirit, Noggs and Curated Living, while Between the Lines is perfect for gifts or picking up that all-important card.
For everyday shopping, you’re well catered for with Waitrose on the High Street, along with Tesco and Marks & Spencer in Wey Hill.

One of Haslemere’s biggest draws is its access to beautiful countryside. Surrounded by rolling hills, woodland walks and open spaces, it’s ideal for those who enjoy being outdoors.

Whether it’s a weekend walk, a morning run or simply getting some fresh air, there’s no shortage of places to explore. It’s the kind of area where nature really becomes part of your everyday life.
Some of our favourite spots for dog walking and exploring include Black Down, Swan Barn (just behind the High Street) and Marley Common.
Abby's Perspective
Having lived here for many years, Haslemere is one of those places that people move to and tend to stay. It offers that rare combination of feeling like a proper English town, with a beautiful character high street, while still being surrounded by countryside.

It’s especially appealing if you’re looking for a calmer pace of life without losing convenience, with easy access to the A3 and the mainline station. I also love it from a dog owner’s perspective, it really is a dream. There are so many beautiful spots right on your doorstep to explore with your four-legged friends.
