A little local knowledge
The village expanded considerably after the railway reached nearby Haslemere in 1859, making the area more accessible and helping Grayshott develop from a small rural settlement into the village we know today.
Grayshott and the surrounding area attracted a number of well-known writers, including Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and George Bernard Shaw, adding to the village’s rich cultural history.
Established in the village in 1956, Grayshott Pottery has a long history of producing English stoneware and has links back to the Arts and Crafts pottery tradition.
